Other than taking about one day to break in these are the best skate shoes I've ever ridden. I skated these shoes about everyday for about 6-7 months and I didn't get one hole, the suede didn't even tear. Long story short get these shoes

My go to skate shoes are half cabs as they hold up for so long, ive gone through 3pairs already and they all last up to about 6-8 months. They feel amazing and you get maximum board feel with them on, breaking them in is a bit weird though but other than that they are amazing.

Started skating again a few months ago and have been trying different skate shoes (New Balance, Adidas, etc.) with marginal success — enter, the half cab. Picked up a pair of these on sale and holy moly, I'm a customer for life now. The perfect combo of board feel, support, protection, and style. I can totally see why this is a 30+ year classic in the Vans lineup. It's a perfect skate shoe.

My last pair was a burgundy/white gum-sole ordered via international money-wire to CCS back in '96. dopest pair I ever owned, the NTS yellow colorway coming a close second. Those were the days.
Not exactly the avenue for my inquiry but seeing one of the colorways is of pig suede, is the black/white, brown/gum and mono-chocolate suede material made of pig origin.
Please advice and eager for your response. Thanks.

The new skate line half cabs last forever. I think I skated these for about 8 months before the soles finally gave out. I usually blow through the upper in the Ollie area within a month, but these just would not tear. I think I went through about 4-5 decks with fresh griptape in the time I skated these. I remember skating the OG half cabs back in the day and they lasted about a month, which was pretty average. They definitely upgraded with the skate versions. These last forever. Top tier durability.
Theses shoes have stood the test of time for a reason.

Stylish and durable shoe, very much like the look to them. However, they are stiff and can be a bit tight near the toe area, so if your looking to skate in them, there will need some time to break in, but with this one minor issue these shoes are very good.
