Back Light: Jake Wickersham

There’s a lot to be said about the middle. Sadly the middle doesn’t get a lot of attention. Why is that? Is it because the beginning, the end, the top and the bottom are just so extreme that no one assumes anything good can come from the middle? Is it just too tame and safe for people? You could really make the argument that the middle is where everything is perfect, and kinks have had time to work out, while everything remains fairly fresh. In skateboarding the middle is just as neglected as anywhere else, and that’s why it’s so damn impressive that it can hold so much amazing talent. In this situation we’re talking about the middle of the country. Kansas City is almost perfectly in the center of the good old U.S.A. and today the middle brings you the photographic styling of Jake Wickersham. Jake has been holding it down as one of the middle’s premier skate photographers for years and continues to shine a light on his community and region.
